Tim Darrin, entrepreneurial adventurer, no moss ever grows under his feet. Hailing from New Jersey in 1953 he was born to experience life to the fullest. His college years lead him to travels of the world, exploring its treasured nooks and crannies while attaining his Art History major in Lugano, Switzerland at Franklin College in the early 1970’s. He did not “settle down” until reaching Napa Valley in 1978.
Just about literally flying into Napa Valley in his hot air balloon, he started the first hot air balloon company Adventures Aloft, with 2 other associates, continuing his flow with the winds of destiny! After years of avoiding the vineyards in his hot air balloon, ironically his midlife adventure has taken him directly into those same vines with the sense of excitement and acquisitive passion now for winemaking.
Anyone who knows Tim knows his keen appreciation for the fine culinary experience! Whether it is breakfast pancakes, BBQ chicken or baked salmon with celery and black truffles, there is always more to it than what meets the eye. What meets the eye is always beautiful and what enters the palate is simply delicious. He takes pleasure in the details, which lead to a masterful blend.
Now, captivated by “the grape”, his pursuit for that ideal wine
has taken him on a path of perfection, education and technique, to deliver the essences of the vineyard, driven by passion and detail! A perfect balance between art & science that is what turns it all into a fine wine at Daviana Winery!
